After recently reading a book by Alec Ross "The Industries of the Future", it spurred me to contemplate what our industry would look like in 20 years. While the book focuses more on robotics, commercialization of genomics, efficiencies in agriculture, cyber security and emerging markets, it directly relates to nearly every field of business.
As an Atlanta event management professional, you’ve got to always be ahead of the curve. Having an idea as to the direction of the industry will help you stay relevant and enjoy years of success. So, what can we expect from the event industry over the next two decades? If you’re always focused on the next big thing as an event planner, you are risking missing the signs of the true trajectory of the industry. Yes, having access to and using the latest event technology is helpful, but you shouldn’t forsake the knowledge of why that technology is useful. Let’s consider the use of technology in the event planning process. Social media plays a big role these days – event designers use it to keep clients aware of the progress on their event design and production, marketing, retention purposes and so much more. Reflecting on the future of the event industry, you’ve got to recognize that every great event begins and ends with the audience. As an event designer, you’ve got to understand what excites people and how to engage them. Set the bar high. Remember, however, that you also have to take the time to figure out what technologies can support your vision and achieve your goals. The thing is, technology won’t ever make a bad event great. You still need to work hard at creating a solid theme and executing your design. However, technology does allow for endless opportunities for creative problem solving and improving on your hard work. Event planning is part of the much larger service industry, so the role of the consumer is a fundamental one. However, thanks to technology and today’s global hyper-connectivity, this role is even larger than ever before. This connectivity allows for an emotional connection among attendees and a sense of community. The future is about ensuring the relationship with attendees and clients, which keeps the event industry moving forward.

When you’ve been in the event production and design business as long as we have at Track Seven Events, you come know that the success of an event comes down to one basic principle: guest interaction.
As event planners, it is essential that we see event guests connect with other attendees and engage in the overall experience of the event. If this does not happen, we feel we have failed at our job. One of our main goals is for every event guest to leave saying, “That was an amazing experience. I’m thrilled I went!” So, how do we succeed at awesome guest interaction at our events? First of all, the content of the event is up to our clients – after all, it is their event. However, we boost guest interaction at every single event that we design and produce by creating the perfect atmosphere. The right atmosphere at a special event will allow guests to feel connected and engaged. This is true for every type of special event from weddings and bar mitzvahs to corporate events and product launches. When we create the right atmosphere for your event, you and your guests will feel relaxed, making it easy to interact and take in the event’s proceedings. There’s no one thing that we do to create the ideal atmosphere; it is actually the amalgamation of lots of different things like careful planning, creativity, skilled prop builders, and streamlined coordination. One factor that plays a large part in setting the tone of an event is the event space itself. Ideally, guests should be able to engage in quality conversation and move around comfortably. There’s nothing worse than being cramped, crowded, and unable to interact. This is why we work with our clients closely – to help find the perfect venue or event space, incorporate the client’s preferred theme into the design of that space, and create the perfect event experience! At Track Seven Events, we have a lot of corporate clients. This means we’re well-versed in planning, designing, and producing a variety of corporate events, ranging from conferences to product launches and re-branding parties. We know that what we do plays a key role in the success of our clients’ events.
We are a full-service event production company. That means we help our corporate clients plan, design, and execute their special events. We offer a number of services ranging from building custom props and furniture designed especially for a given event to AV services and special lighting. We even have a warehouse, which is set up much like a show room, in case any of our past custom-built props might be a good fit for another client. Of course, we don’t directly affect the content of the special event or who our clients decide to invite, but we do directly affect the look, feel, and experience of that event. Attendee experience is everything to us and we take it very seriously. Keeping attendees engaged is not only our clients’ responsibility, but also ours – and we do that through unique themes, décor, and high-quality event design. A corporate event has many purposes, but the main underlying idea is that it allows attendees to learn more about a given company or brand. A corporate event needs to be much more than a boring meeting; a corporate event should be engaging, unique, and interactive to get the company message across. Many of our corporate clients view us as an extension of their in-house team. We get to meet with many different people to collaborate on each corporate event that we design and produce. If you’d like to discuss the possibility of a corporate event with us, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re ready to make your event investment an exciting one! When it comes to event design and production, many professionals strive to offer their clients an unparalleled experience something that they will never forget – and that is exactly what we aim for at Track Seven Events.
It is not uncommon for a special event to have a specific theme. In fact, most of the events we produce are designed around a particular theme that our client has come to us with, or something we have come up with based on their desires. We’re ready to design the perfect themed event, whether it is an ‘Roaring 20's’ prom, a sports theme bar/bat mitzvah, or a unique corporate event. So, how do we create the perfect event for our clients? We start with our custom fabrication department, that’s where! We have the artistic vision and skill to create props, sets, and even furniture in any shape, size, and dimension to best fit your event. We know that your event is an investment, which is why we always try to use real objects whenever possible, instead of decorations. Customized props give your event a unique appeal – something that many other event production companies just cannot offer. To give clients an idea of what we can do, we keep these special items in our warehouse, which is set up much like a showroom and storage area, so that clients can see and touch our amazing concepts. We’ve arranged our warehouse this way because we know most people are visual learners, and this allows clients to really understand what we are capable of. Just remember, we can work with any budget. If your budget is limited, we encourage you to visit our warehouse and see what we have from our past events. You may just find that instead of having us build something special – which we would love to do – we already have that perfect prop ready to go! Don’t hesitate to make an appointment to explore our warehouse – we’re standing by, ready to guide you! As a full-service event management and production company, we strive to help our clients make their event dreams become a reality.
One of the ways in which we achieve this goal is by helping clients to focus on the impact of the event space rather than waste time and money on smaller, ineffective items. In a way, this maximizes your investment. In case you didn’t already realize the importance of an event venue, the space in which an event takes place really is an integral part of the whole production. The space can help set the mood through its ambiance, layout, and how you incorporate these factors into the event design. Props and décor are always going to be a part of event design and production, but they should not be the sole focus of the event planning. At Track Seven Events, we work with you to maximize the focus you put on the space itself – we work to play up to the natural charm and beauty of a given space. Thanks to our years of experience, we can set the mood of your entire event by integrating the existing décor of the space into the event design. For a professional corporate event, we’ll bring in a few key elements such as stylish carpeting, special lighting, cozy seating, and digital displays. For a gala event, we’ll consider the space’s architectural style and existing interior and play upon that. We’ll also use our expertise to plan the layout of your event within the space. We’ll always discuss event activities and flow of traffic with our clients to generate a floor plan and design a layout for the event that is conducive to our client’s goals. In working on the layout, we’ll be able to incorporate our custom-built props, bars, and furniture, which will be the perfect complement to the space’s existing look. With the 88th Academy Awards ceremony just around the corner, we got to thinking about how movie culture might inspire event design this year. The Oscars is always a top Hollywood event – a spectacle that is watched all over the world, mostly because people love movies.
Throughout history, movies have had a huge impact on society, culture, and events. Consider movies such as Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby, Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. You have probably been to a party or two that have been themed around one of these films. This year is going to make for some really fun event design themes – Tim Burton’s Alice Through the Looking Glass is set to premiere, as is a redux of Ghostbusters and several superhero movies. These movies will likely inspire events as well as a broader range of themes like 80s movie parties, superhero versus villain events, and fantasy! Film is always an engaging and fun starting point for event designers. There is a wide range of color and whimsy, and the possibility of guest interaction and engagement is endless. Events inspired by movies allow for the latest and greatest in event design technology, from the audio to lighting to interactive art! The Oscars themselves may even inspire events – perhaps a client will want an Old Hollywood-themed wedding, an extravagant gala, or a corporate awards ceremony. With movies, you have more than a century of history to consider, which makes it one of the best sources of inspiration for event designers! As an event designer, it falls on you to really listen to your client and then take what you’ve learned and draw inspiration from where you may least expect it. So, instead of considering major blockbusters, why not look to classic French film or art-house staples for your next event? You may be pleasantly surprised. As a professional event designer, you probably have had the opportunity to plan and attend some pretty amazing events. If you’ve been at it for more than a few years, you know how fun it can be to see how styles change across both time and locations.
So, what plays a role in the overall design of an event? The culture, the locale, the season and even the climate all affect the theme, décor and tone of an event. Every place has its own style and taste, and event designers need to pay attention. One thing that inexperienced event planning professionals often get wrong is that they try to make an event something it’s not. It is important to design an event that is fashionable and unique, but above all, that design needs to be functional. Those quirky cocktail glasses with the rounded bottoms may look really cool, but they won’t do much if guests want to put their drinks down for a moment. Adventurous cuisine may seem appealing, but your event will not be considered a success if no one touches the hors d'oeuvres. So, you have to figure out how to get the perfect balance of both fashion and function. Most guests want to be impressed by the design, lighting, layout and theme but they don’t want to be subjected to sensory overload. In most cases, it is important that guests be impressed while able to navigate the space and access food and drink easily. This is not to say you must forego creativity when designing and planning an event. By all means work with your clients to help make their event dreams come true, but do it in a functional way. And remember, even if the event looks great, it will ultimately be a failure if none of the elements work well. In today’s ever-changing event management market, we know that the success of any event we design depends on the perfect amalgamation of strategic planning, superior creativity, talent, production management, and budgeting. We also know that our clients are relying on us to pull off a spectacular event that appears to have been effortless.
At Track Seven Events, this is exactly what we do. We re-imagine those seemingly endless brainstorming sessions into truly unique events, all while keeping within our clients’ budget. Whether it is an intimate wedding of 80 guests or a corporate event for 1,000 people, we will achieve the goals at hand in a timely, creative, and efficient manner. Our objective goes beyond wowing our clients and their guests – we also aim to foster long-term partnerships with each and every one of our clients. We do this by executing their unique vision and making their event dreams become a reality. Your event is an investment – one we take very seriously. With decades of experience successfully executing events, Track Seven Events really should be your go-to Atlanta event management company – no questions asked! We offer a full-service production team that will work with you every step of the way. We specialize in all sorts of events, ranging from galas to award ceremonies and corporate events to proms and bar mitzvahs. We’re prepared to work on rallies, speaker events, fashion shows, and more. If you’re interested in an event management company that not only oversees but also actively designs every facet of the event, Track Seven Events should be your first call. Your event’s success depends on us. Let us help you achieve a unique and memorable event that your guests will be talking about for years to come! Many people measure the success of an event by numbers – the number of tickets sold or the number of performances staged, for example. However, at Track Seven Events, we don’t think this is a completely accurate method of measuring the success of our events.
So, what do we consider a successful event? It all boils down to the emotion within the event strategy. Think about it: a wedding could be picture-perfect, but if no one is having any fun, is that really a success? Probably not. It is the experience of the event that really matters, and this is true on many levels. An event is an investment of time, money, and emotions. The goal is to design and execute an event that will stand the test of time while being unique and memorable for everyone involved. So, when we organize an event, we are designing an overall experience that we’ll be offering guests, not just the layout, lighting, and music. Event planning is much more than a service or product. When we plan an event, we are planning a series of moments that guests will experience, and hopefully, remember for a long time to come. We are able to stage these moments, culminating in a single event experience, by incorporating these factors into each step of our planning process:
Remember, the legacy of an event will inevitably include the memory of the experience. So, if that means we need to go the extra mile and design customized lighting and projection mapping for a client, we will. It also means that we are happy to build customized props tailored to our clients’ specific theme. Whatever it takes, we’re prepared to deliver. Pro tip: staying productive during the holiday season
As a full-service event production company, we know exactly how crazy the end-of-year madness can be. This period of hustle and bustle starts after October and runs right through to the New Year. In light of that, we thought we would share a pro tip – how we stay productive throughout the holiday season and pull off our events without a hitch. Sure, we are all susceptible to festive distractions, but we stay focused, thanks to the way we operate at Track Seven Events. We plan ahead The holiday season can be pure madness for any business, but especially for an event management company! The key to keeping the insanity at bay is to be as proactive as possible. Our team remains happy and productive throughout the holidays because we plan ahead. We smooth out potential roadblocks in advance by thinking about any problems we had during this time last year. Armed with that information we can avoid many potential pitfalls. We’re flexible We know it’s easy to get distracted at the office during the holidays, so we’re flexible with our team. This flexibility allows us to work to our highest potential and lets our creativity flow. We are realistic – we know our staff and our clients are going through the holiday craze as well. That’s why we are here to work with you every step of the way. We clarify our goals The period between Halloween and the New Year can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. We break down our goals for each event, which makes it easy for us to accomplish even the most challenging task. This means your event is designed perfectly, on time and within budget, with relatively little stress! At Track Seven Events, we know that our clients may be going through the same holiday madness.
